Urban Designer and Planner, Perkins and Will

Eunice is motivated by the intersection of city planning and design, specifically in the opportunities for the advancement of social equity in communities. Her work spans parametric built-form testing projects, such as the TOcore Building for Liveability study, to streetscape design and strategic policy planning. She has a focused interest in both social and physical resilience, as exemplified in her work on the Toronto Resilience Strategy and leading Perkins and Will’s research lab on the intersections of equity, public health, and resilience at the district scale.

She believes that good design should be empowering and represent a ‘people- and community-first’ philosophy. This is further deepened by her prior experiences in engagement, community planning, development review, and transportation planning in municipalities across Ontario. Through this, Eunice has developed a broad understanding of the planning practice and its key players. Educational opportunities have also allowed Eunice to explore the global diversity of cities in Barcelona, Spain, and Oxford, United Kingdom. Eunice’s skills in both realms of planning and design bring strong technical and aesthetic perspectives to her work. Recently, her work on The Meadoway project in Scarborough has been awarded a CSLA Award of Excellence for Planning and Analysis.
