Vice President (A), Development, Heavy Rail (Existing Stations) in Metrolinx’s Transit Oriented Communities Team

Rick Schippling is a Vice President (A), Development, Heavy Rail (Existing Stations) in Metrolinx’s Transit Oriented Communities team. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University and a Master of Arts (Planning) from the University of Waterloo. In his current role, Rick focuses on putting Metrolinx’s real estate assets to their highest and best use by facilitating new development opportunities at the 68 operating GO rail stations. Through partnerships with third parties and by bringing strategic development properties to market, Rick oversees a program aimed at capturing land value, increasing transit ridership, and improving the customer experience at existing GO stations. Prior to his time at Metrolinx, Rick worked as a planning consultant on mixed use development projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area as well as large master planning and development projects in the Middle East, and as a municipal planner.
