Established initially in 1995, to partner, in part, on seniors’ related projects with BESSANT PELECH ASSOCIATES INC. Consultants in Long-Term Care & Gerontology, the focus of the practice as re-established and reactivated in 2015, after an eleven (11) year hiatus, in part is on land use planning and project management in a range or residential, commercial retail, mixed-use, institutional, industrial, as well as resort recreational and lifestyle retirement development projects.
The synergies between the respective BPA Inc. divisions are now stronger than ever, with collaborations in master planning age-friendly community-building project initiatives.
BESSANT PELECH ASSOCIATES INC. Development Planning + Project Management Consultants has completed projects province-wide, both independently and in collaboration with other planning firms, and multi-disciplinary consulting firms. These projects have been undertaken on behalf of private sector and institutional clients.
Yurij Michael Pelech, BA(Hons), MA(Pl), MCIP, RPP, PLE is a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and currently the Principal / Managing Partner / Senior Associate Planning Consultant with Bessant Pelech Associates Inc. (BPA Inc.) Development Planning + Project Management Consultants, an inter-disciplinary consulting practice.
Having worked in both senior consulting and developer roles, he has a firm understanding of the land development planning process from conceptual stages to construction.
Recognized as an industry leader, he is known for his professionalism, pragmatism and skill in addressing and resolving development issues with forward-thinking and value-generating implementation strategies, as well as his meticulous attention to detail, dedicated pursuit of approvals and professional courteous manner with clients, municipal and approval authority staff, and project team members.
His knowledge of legislative requirements and various land development processes has given him the ability to manage today’s ever-growing complexities attached to development projects with a focus on unlocking and realizing value in land development projects and has distinguished himself through a wide variety of planning assignments where he has provided independent professional planning.
Operating at the cross-roads of planning and design, his work in the private sector over the past thirty (30) plus years has focused on land use planning and project management in a range and varied portfolio of projects including residential, mixed-use, retail commercial, institutional, industrial, employment, recreational resort, seniors’ lifestyle retirement, and master-planned community development projects. In this capacity, he has consulted for various private sector and institutional clients province-wide, providing strategic advice and land use planning services.
This work has focused on identifying development opportunities for land-based assets, developing strategies to achieve corporate objectives through proper management of land assets, and examining market conditions, the regulatory framework and site characteristics to outline development options that best support client interests and objectives, and following through with recommended implementation strategies to secure requisite development planning approvals.
Mr. Pelech specializes primarily in stakeholder representation, the preparation of planning and development feasibility studies, processing formal development applications, managing and expediting the regulatory review approvals process, conducting negotiations with public approval authorities and the direction of multi-disciplinary project consulting teams.
While his portfolio of projects stretches province-wide, his focus remains within the fast-growing GTHA. His clients have come to rely on his expert knowledge to help facilitate development approvals.
