Project Manager – Planner / Aboriginal Services Specialist, Dillon Consulting Limited

Heather is an Associate with Dillon, a registered professional planner and professional engineer. Her focus has included consultation, EAs, impact assessment, infrastructure planning, TK/TLU and land use planning. Through this work she has worked with (and for) Aboriginal communities in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. 
 
Some of her recent work has taken her to the Thunder Bay and Fort Frances area.  She was project manager for multiple projects related to the Rainy River Gold Project work for area First Nations.  This work included working with seven different First Nation communities in Ontario.  Throughout this work, she worked closely with the Nation representatives to ensure that all appropriate community protocols were followed.
 
Heather also been involved for many technical reviews of EA’s on behalf of First Nations in Ontario and Alberta for various resource sector projects, including many projects for Fort McMurray First Nation.  She has designed consultation/engagement programs for many projects and played a role in engaging community Elders, youth, consultation coordinators and other community knowledge holders.Heather has also attended various courses related to Aboriginal Law and Rights. She has thoroughly enjoyed her past experience working with and for Aboriginal communities and strives to continue this work.
